Bahrain’s dry dock road revamp on track

Work on phase 1 of the Dry Dock Highway extension project in Bahrain is completed on time, said a top official.

The work included final asphalting works, signage, lighting, painting works and installing safety barriers, explained Roads Projects & Maintenance director Raed Al Salah.

The highway extension will provide additional entrances to Northern Muharraq’s villages; namely Qalali, Samaheej and Al Dair.

“The project aims to reduce traffic congestion on the internal roads of the nearby villages and Rayya Avenue (previously Arados Avenue), which will be revamped in the near future,” said Al Salah.

“It is important that we manage to transform Rayya Avenue into an alternate road capable of accommodating the increasing traffic congestion resulting from the revamp of Dry Dock Highway,” he added.
